A50 Roadworks Update

As way of updating on the A50 River Dove scheme please see below:

• We are continuing to progress with works, with the new waterproofing layer being laid this week. We have also started laying kerbs and forming the kerb line foundations.
• As of next week, we are working to continue with kerbing and concrete works, whilst then we plan to start surfacing works. This week and next week’s works are weather critical, either during the construction or curing time.
• It will be noticed, we have scheduled additional night shifts into our works programme as we manage resource availability and weather against the programme.
• Unfortunately, due to a combination of unforeseen repairs and weather (both hot and rain), we are now in a position we have had to extend our programme past the planned completion date. We are in communication with local authorities to manage this effectively, and now plan to have both directions running as 2 lanes open by the morning of Friday 25^th July. We are aware of the local stakeholder event at JCB Golf, however we need to ensure that the road is both safe and practicable prior to opening for traffic. As part of this extension, the existing full closures will now be deferred until Wednesday 23^rd (EB) and Thursday 24^th (WB). The 40mph will remain in place for a short time after the works.
